Support

We're here to help.

Real people read every message. Write to us about anything in the Eternem app for iPhone, iPad, or Android — a capsule that won't open, a subscription question, or your account and your data.

We reply within 1 business day, Monday to Friday.

Your device, your app version, and what happened get you a faster answer.

What to include

A few details let us solve it in one reply instead of three:

  • The email address or phone number on your Eternem account
  • Your device and OS version (for example, iPhone 15 on iOS 18.4)
  • The Eternem app version, from Profile → Settings
  • What you expected to happen, and what happened instead

Every message goes to a person on our support team, and the reply comes back to the address you give us — usually the same day, always within 1 business day.

Eternem Inc., Maitland, Florida, United States. Support is provided in English.

Answers to common questions

Getting started

Downloading Eternem, creating your account, and finding your way around.

Eternem is a free download on the App Store (iPhone and iPad) and Google Play (Android phones and tablets). Open the app and choose Sign Up, then create your account with an email address, a phone number, or by signing in with Google or Apple. A short five-step setup follows: your name, a quick tour, your profile photo and details, an optional Circle to join, and you're in. You can link more than one sign-in method to the same account later from Profile → Account.

Check your spam or junk folder first, and confirm the address or phone number on the sign-in screen has no typos. Codes can take a couple of minutes to arrive — tap Resend if nothing shows up. If you still don't receive it after two attempts, send us a message using the form on this page under "Account & sign-in", with the address you're trying to register or the phone number including its country code, and we'll verify the account manually.

Eternem runs on iPhone, iPad, and Android phones and tablets. The interface is available in 14 languages — English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Polish, Finnish, Norwegian, Romanian, Greek, Hebrew, and Arabic — with full right-to-left layout for Hebrew and Arabic. Change it any time in Settings → Language.

Yes. The app supports system text scaling from 0.8x to 1.5x, respects the system Reduce Motion setting, uses 44dp minimum touch targets, meets WCAG AA contrast, and ships screen-reader labels on every interactive element. If something is unusable with your assistive setup, tell us — accessibility reports go to the top of the queue.

Capsules & locks

Creating capsules, and what to do when one won't open.

There are three ways. A Standard capsule gives you everything — title, story, photos, video, audio, the Circles you're sharing with, lock settings, and details like the date the memory happened. A Quick capsule is a stripped-down flow for capturing something fast. A Smart capsule is voice-first: you speak your memory, Eternem transcribes it, drafts a polished title and story you can edit, and keeps your original recording alongside it.

The capsule is locked. A Time Lock keeps it sealed until a date and time the creator chose. A Moment Lock keeps it sealed until a linked life event is marked as having happened. A Manual Lock stays sealed until the creator opens it. You may see that a locked capsule exists, but its title, story, and media stay encrypted until it unlocks. If you have biometric lock switched on, you'll also be asked for Face ID, Touch ID, or your fingerprint before a capsule opens.

Time-locked capsules are released by a job that runs every hour, so there can be a short delay after the moment you're expecting. Fully close and reopen the app to pull fresh data. If a capsule is still locked several hours after its date, send us a message with the capsule title and the unlock date you set, and we'll release it from our side.

Check three things on the capsule: that it's shared with a Circle they belong to, that they aren't on the capsule's exclusion list, and that the capsule isn't still locked. Excluded people can't see a capsule even when they're members of the Circle it was shared with.

Uploads need a stable connection and the app's permission to reach your photo library, camera, and microphone — check those under your device's Settings for Eternem. Large videos over cellular are the most common failure; try again on Wi-Fi. If a capsule saves but the media never appears, keep the capsule and send us its title so we can look at the upload record rather than having you recreate it.

Eterna AI

What the AI companion can see, hear, and speak for.

Only what you switch on. Under Settings → Eterna Access there are separate toggles for your capsules, your facts, and your feelings. With all three off, Eterna can talk with you but cannot reference your content. Turning a toggle off again immediately stops that data being used in future conversations.

Settings → Eterna Voice lets you pick the voice, and Eterna Speed adjusts the pace from 0.6x to 1.4x. Voice conversations need microphone permission for Eternem in your device settings.

Act As mode — where Eterna draws on a specific person's preserved stories — requires two things: a verified relationship between your accounts, and that person having allowed it in their own Eterna privacy settings. If either is missing, the option stays unavailable. Neither can be enabled by us on someone else's behalf.

Eterna is an AI drawing on the material it has been given, and it can be wrong. Please report it through the form on this page with roughly what you asked and what came back — we investigate every report, and it's how the guardrails improve. If a response involved someone else's content appearing where it shouldn't, say so in the first line; those are handled ahead of everything else.

Circles, people & invitations

Sharing across a family or a group.

A Circle is a private group — a family, a set of friends, an organization — that capsules can be shared into. Members can contribute their own capsules, leave thoughts on others', message each other, and play Trivia together. Roles within a Circle control who can invite, moderate, and manage it.

Invitations are delivered by email, so ask the recipient to check spam and confirm the address you used. You can resend from the Circle's member list. If it still doesn't arrive, send us the Circle name and the invited address and we'll trace the delivery.

Open the Circle, go to its members list, and use Leave Circle for yourself. Removing another member requires an owner or admin role in that Circle. Leaving a Circle doesn't delete capsules you created — it stops them being shared into that Circle going forward.

Account & security

Passwords, sign-in methods, and locking the app down.

Use Forgot Password on the sign-in screen and we'll email a reset link to your registered address. If you originally signed up with Google or Apple, there's no Eternem password to reset — sign in with that provider instead, and check Profile → Account to see which providers are linked.

Profile → Account. Both changes require a recent sign-in and verification of the new address or number — that's deliberate, since these are the credentials that recover your account. If you've lost access to both your old and new address, email us and we'll verify you another way.

Settings → Biometric Lock requires Face ID, Touch ID, or your fingerprint to open Eternem, and to view locked capsules. It's off by default.

Capsule titles and stories are encrypted with AES-256-GCM and are never stored as readable text on our servers; decryption happens on your device. Access is scoped by Circle membership, exclusion lists, and lock state. The server side runs on Google Cloud infrastructure with Firebase Authentication and App Check.

Subscriptions & billing

Managing premium, restoring purchases, and refunds.

No. Eternem is free to download, and the core experience — creating capsules, joining Circles, talking with Eterna, and voice capture — costs nothing. Optional premium features are available as an in-app subscription for people who want more.

Subscriptions are billed by Apple or Google, not by us, so they're cancelled in the store account that owns them. On iPhone or iPad: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Eternem → Cancel Subscription. On Android: Play Store → profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Eternem → Cancel. Access continues until the end of the period you've already paid for.

Make sure you're signed into the same Apple Account or Google account that made the purchase, then use Restore Purchases in the app's subscription screen. Subscription status is re-checked each time the app launches, so a full restart often resolves it. If it's still locked after a restore, send us a message under "Subscriptions & billing" with your Eternem account email and the store order number, and we'll reconcile it manually.

Refunds for in-app purchases are handled by the store that processed the payment. For iOS, request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. For Android, use the Play Store order history or Google's refund request form. We can't issue store refunds directly, but tell us what went wrong and we'll support your request.

Privacy, data & deletion

Your rights over your account and everything in it.

In the app: Profile → Account → Delete Account. This permanently removes your account, capsules, stories, media, and Eterna conversation history. Data is held for 7 days and then permanently deleted, except where the law requires us to retain something. Deletion cannot be undone, so export anything you want to keep first. If you can't sign in, use the form on this page, choose "Privacy, data & deletion", and give the email address on the account — we'll verify you and complete the deletion.

Content you created is deleted with your account, including capsules shared into Circles. Because that's irreversible for the people you shared with, tell your Circle before you delete if those memories matter to them.

Yes. Ask for a data export through the form on this page under "Privacy, data & deletion", using the email address on your account, and we'll send a machine-readable copy of your account data. We'll also answer access, correction, and deletion requests under GDPR, CCPA, and comparable laws — see the Privacy Policy for the full detail on your rights.

No. Eternem has no advertising, no feed, and no algorithmic profiling, and we do not sell personal data or mine your capsules to target you. That's the point of the product, not a policy we could quietly change.

Troubleshooting & reporting

When the app misbehaves, and how to report someone.

Work through these in order: check for an Eternem update in the App Store or Play Store (we enforce a minimum supported version), fully close and reopen the app, restart the device, then confirm you have a working connection. If it persists, email us with your device model, OS version, app version, and what you were doing — that's usually enough for us to find the crash in our logs.

Confirm notifications are allowed for Eternem in your device settings, and that Focus, Do Not Disturb, or battery optimization isn't suppressing them (battery optimization is the usual culprit on Android). Streak reminders have their own toggle in Settings. In-app notifications always appear under the bell icon, even when push is off.

Use the report option on the capsule, message, or profile in question. Categories cover bullying, harassment, hate, impersonation, threats, fraud, scams, and spam. Reports are reviewed by our team. For anything urgent — an immediate threat to someone's safety — contact your local emergency services first, then send us a message on this page starting with the word URGENT so it jumps the queue.

Please report it privately through the form on this page, starting your message with the word Security, rather than disclosing it publicly, and give us a reasonable window to fix it. We'll acknowledge the report and keep you updated through the fix. If you need to send a proof of concept or an encrypted report, say so and we'll reply with a channel for it.

Deleting your account and your data

You can delete your Eternem account and everything in it from inside the app, at any time, without asking us: Profile → Account → Delete Account. This permanently removes your account, your capsules, their stories and media, and your Eterna conversation history. Data is held for 7 days and then permanently deleted, except where we are legally required to retain it. Deletion cannot be undone.

If you can no longer sign in, send us a message using the email address on your account and choose Privacy, data & deletion. We'll verify who you are and complete the deletion for you. The same route handles requests to access, export, or correct your data under GDPR, CCPA, and comparable laws.

Still stuck? Write to us.

No ticket numbers, no phone tree. Tell us what's wrong and we'll get back to you within 1 business day.
